So it seems like we're getting an influx of map creation tools and I was wondering anything you were eyeing in particular, or something I might have missed? Right now I know of the three I listed. Right now I'm going to list some pros and cons about them:
World Engine
Pros *high customization (including shrinking individual objects placed on map) *loads of assets *seems like there is a huge map field *Cross platforming
Cons
*subscription based (with different tiers) *most expensive *low quality
Pros
*loads of assets (including multiple different portions of meals you can place on tables) *Out now *Cheapest *Very flexible (can make detailed or simple maps) *Seems to have lots of town assets along with dungeon
Cons
*only on Steam *Seems to concentrate more on towns and villages (really not sure about their dungeon assets)
MapForge
Pros *Super high quality (with lighting detail) *Offers customization that's not found in trailers of others (random torches placement, night/day map, plus more) *Cross platforming Dungeon Painter Studio Assets
Cons
*Seems to have the smallest map field (unconfirmed) *comes out the latest, with no access to Beta or Alpha *with add-ons, can be the most expensive
Final Thoughts
I have not tried any of these, nor know nothing about these outside of their trailers. Have any of you all tried another one and liked it? Looking at these trailers, which one would you be willing to try out? Thanks all!

While browsing my Steam discovery queue I came across Dungeon Painter Studio, an encounter builder made by Pyromancers.com, and I thought you all might be interested. I google'd the dev and found their website and their web app Dungeon Painter Online. I messed around with said app for a short while and was left feeling decently satisfied by the promise of a more polished version. DPS is currently available for Early Access purchase on Steam if anyone is interested in giving it a look. I would, personally, wait until release to actually pick it up as EA has repeatedly proven a volatile thing.
Please note: I have not been paid to post this. This post is not an endorsement of these products. I have, as stated above, played around with the web app. However, I have no personal experience with the premium program.
TLDR: I found a, potentially, promising encounter builder on Steam which may be worth keeping an eye on. You may also find it interesting. Also, there's a less polished web app. I've not received money to post this.

Dungeon Painter Studio Reddit
It's good if you just need a map quickly, but it has some stability issues (it crashes sometimes when you attempt to close it) and it's graphics need work.

This isnt a pretty-show-off-to-my-players map builder, rather its usefl for normal folks needing to get their ideas down on the computer. Simply colored and just plain handy
Summary
It's a great progam for anyone looking to make up a few maps for their next session without too much headache or broken pencils. The line tool is buggy, and when creating new objects you have to restart to see them, but overall it's great. Maybe we'll see a version 2 to fix it.

This is a basic but very helpful map designer and my group loves it! thanks to whoever made this.

This program is OK but it would be better if Lior included a feature which will let you import ur own objects. Right now Paint will rule over this. All it needs is Importing and it would be perfect :)

It's ok, really, but it seems that it's just using a tiny bit of it's potential.
